About JULIA

I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and a Certified Control Unleashed Instructor (CCUI). I began my apprenticeship in dog training shortly after I got my second Cane Corso "Ardesia." As a small puppy she was very challenging. I had to find creative ways to teach her and support her cooperation. She has, and continues to teach me so much and I am thankful because I LOVE this profession. I thoroughly enjoy the uniqueness of each dog and finding specific ways for them to learn. Reading animals and problem-solving have always been my strong-suits. Working with people to gain a greater understanding from all perspectives in a patient, kind way is a wonderful part of my job! I love seeing the eagerness in the dogs to do what is best for their family, when everyone learns the right tools.

Certified Control Unleashed Instructor: This is an amazing technique of pattern games, choice and conversational training that is very helpful for competing dogs and reactive or sensitive dogs. I adore these techniques!

So many elements in my background have led up to this. I have been a massage therapist for more than 20 years for humans and animals. I have avidly been interested in and studied health and nutrition my entire adult life, for dogs and people, I also had a dog treat business. I have been riding, working with, competing and training horses since i was 9 years old. And I now love training and/or competing with Ardesia in; Nose Work, Rally Obedience, Barnhunt, Parkour, Trick Titles and Ball Herding. I especially like to train with games and practical rewards. There are so many enviornmental rewards and training opportunities on your average walk with your dog.
